NEWS HERE
4/1/11 -- There is a young, beautiful black cat with a white collar, frightened and hiding, wandering near 4200 Hollis Ave. It cries most of the night, if it belongs to you or you would like to try and catch it please call Mark or Salli @ 941-661-3565. It showed up on Tuesday, March 29th.
An Urgent Plea to All EJCL Members and Friends:
Dear Members and Friends,
I am sending you a desperate SOS. Our Community League is in dire need of
help: attendance is declining, no one wants to serve on the Board of Directors,
and functions are not being attended. The Board of Directors is doing its best, but nine people cannot do everything all of the time. We need your involvement!
Elections will be held on Sat., Feb., 12 at the Annual Membership Meeting/Dinner and we need a Secretary. We have been operating without a Secretary for quite sometime and it has been difficult. The Secretary must be someone who can take the minutes at our Board Meetings, Annual Meeting and any Special Meeting called by the Board. He/she would then transcribe those minutes and get them to the Board members either by e-mail or the postal service. This person would be responsible for certain correspondence, retrieving the at the El Jobean Post Office and sending reminder notices to Board Members for meetings.
We, the Board of Directors, cannot keep the doors of the Community League open
without commitment from the Members. None of us want to see the doors close - we
have worked very hard, but things have to improve. We have asked for your suggestions, ideas and help and yet we have received nothing. This matter will be discussed at the Annual Meeting on Sat., Feb., 12, 2011.
To those of you who are serving, have served, and have already renewed your memberships for 2011, my deepest and sincerest thanks. All of your efforts have been much appreciated.
Please e-mail me at bev.cutter@yahoo.com or call me or any Board Member. We
thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
For the Board,
Sincerely,
Beverly Cutter
President, EJCL
